Sherry Cobbler

An American Summer classic. AKA the beverage that popularized the straw. Sherry, sugar, citrus. Shaken and served with crushed ice. Circa 1810. Popular from gentry to Charles Dickens and Poe. 

 


Inspired by: PUNCHSaveur, Slate, and Esquire (among others). And of course, a trip to Mockingbird Hill.

Sherry Cobbler:
3.5 ounces Amontillado Sherry
1 T sugar
3 orange slices


Create! 
  • Muddle sugar and citrus.
  • Add sherry and ice.
  • Shake to combine. 
  • Pour into thin cocktail glasses. 
  • Straw is a must.
  • Garnish with berries or citrus twist.
