Fresh Tomato Sauce
6 roma tomatoes3/4 teaspoon coarse salt2 large cloves garlic, diced1 tsp Penzeys Frozen Pizza Seasoning1 T olive oil
Method:
- Bring a large pot of water to boil. Blanch the tomatoes in the boiling water, until their skins begin to split. Then either rinse under cold water or shock in an ice water bath. Peeling the tomatoes should now be a cinch. Discard the skins.
- Cut each of your tomatoes in half lengthwise, scoop out and discard the seeds as much as possible.
- Throw halved tomatoes and remaining ingredients into slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours. Stir occasionally.
